“I don’t believe in God or going to church… but… I’m spiritual!”
Oh, yeah? Really? When you hear statements like that, it’s no wonder that our formerly, once Calvinist Protestant America is starting to go Communist… or that the “American” people and its so-called U.S. “Supreme” Court now have the blood of over 50 MILLION MURDERED BABIES on their hands… or that a man is PENALIZED for being a wise steward of his money… a resource-accumulating, wealth and job-creating capitalist… a diligent workman… a man who cultivates and who improves upon his God-given talent… and becomes financially rich.
My friend, it’s very possible that you really don’t know the meaning of the word spiritual until… that is… you’ve gotten a taste of the late great Charles H. Spurgeon’s commentaries on God’s Holy Spirit-inspired Psalms. And, as you’ll hopefully begin to see, this is but one MORE reason WHY Christ’s Church should ONLY be singing God’s Holy Spirit-inspired Psalms during worship each Lord’s Day Sunday Christian Sabbath… rather than these rinky-dink… unauthorized… man-made “worship” songs.
Now, for a practical methodology for reading God’s Psalms, say today was the 19th day of the month. Just multiply 5 times 19 and you arrive at 95. So then just read any one or all of the Psalms between 91 and 95. For the Proverbs, you would just read the 19th chapter, and so on. Then, read the commentaries from Matthew Henry for the Proverbs… and Charles Spurgeon for the Psalms. Pure truth; pure spiritual gold!)
Let me give you a quick crash-course on how the thing works.
But first, a simple question: How would YOU like to acquire “take-it-to the-bank” HOLY SPIRIT-inspired golden nuggets of TRUE BIBLICAL WISDOM… from Solomon himself — THE wisest man who ever lived?
(… With the clear exception, of course, of the God-Man… the Eternal I AM… the Creator of the universe… the Lord Jesus Christ: for even Solomon yielded to sins of the flesh during his later years…
… sins so serious that, as punishment, Jehovah SPLIT the nation of Israel in two — resulting in grave, long-term consequences for future generations of God’s people.
For example, within three centuries, TEN of the original tribes descending from Abraham… the Father of the Faithful (by the grace of election)… became the Ten LOST Tribes of Israel… as the invisible steel broom of God’s wrath swept them off the face of the planet for their wicked and ongoing sins of FALSE WORSHIP and IDOLATRY.
In other words, for worshiping pagan deities like the sun “god” Baal… for sacrificing their own children in the flames to the Canaanite “god” Moloch… and for FAILING to worship the One true Triune God HIS way… which in those days meant at the Temple in Jerusalem.
They had willfully FORGOTTEN… and CAST ASIDE… the stern but oh-so-loving lessons contained in Moses’ Book of Deuteronomy about the BLESSINGS and the CURSES — lessons that STILL apply with equal force today to YOU… and me… and to each and every other professing free Christian and Messianic Jew.)
My friend, allow me ask you a simple but important question: Are YOU worshiping God HIS way… by keeping the Lord’s Day Christian Sunday Sabbath HOLY… and… by worshiping Him in a faithful Psalm-singing church?
If not, why not?
Listen: IF there are no faithful Calvinist Presbyterian churches where you live (there probably aren’t) — CONFESSIONAL CHURCHES that strictly hold to the Belgic Confession… the Heidelberg Catechism… the Canons of Dort… or the Westminster Confession of Faith (which Confession explicitly teaches the practice of ONLY worshiping our Triune JEHOVAH with His Holy Spirit-inspired Psalter — rather than these unauthorized, way-too-touchy-feely-trash that now pass — in the minds of misled, ignorant congregants — as “worship” songs)… THEN… why not start thinking about starting one in your hometown? No, it won’t be easy. And God the Holy Spirit will have to be the One Who urges and helps you to do so.
Today, most of the American people are… very sadly… on a collision course with God’s immutable Moral Laws… His Ten Commandments… and then… eternal damnation in the dark, lonely dungeons of Hell (See, for example, John 3:36, Mark 16:16, and Matthew 25:41). And, it’s probably WAY too late to turn things around (though nothing is impossible to our great God and Savior – Father, Son, Holy Spirit).
You see, we can’t keep electing traitorous Marxist Socialist parasite politicians (today’s Pied Pipers of Hell) who murder babies… who wickedly turn constitutionally limited governments into covetous, thieving (i.e., anti-private-property-rights-and-totalitarian-socialist) JEHOVAH-hating “gods”… along with wicked, evil “judges” who have legitimized the vile sin of homosexuality by way of “marriage” (Scripture proofs: Leviticus 18:22 & Jude 7)…
… and not expect to be visited with the wrath and curses that must now come from the invisible… all-powerful… sovereign hand of our great Triune JEHOVAH (Father, Son, Holy Spirit).
No. You see, the handwriting is on the wall.
God’s wrath is coming.
He lays down this truth, that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge (Proverbs 1: 7). It is the principle part of knowledge; it is the head of knowledge; that is, 1. Of all things to be known this is most evident, that GOD IS TO BE FEARED, to be reverenced, served, and worshiped; this is so the beginning of knowledge that THOSE KNOW NOTHING WHO DO NOT KNOW THIS. 2. In order to the attaining of all useful knowledge this is most necessary, that we fear God; we are not qualified to profit by the instructions that are given us unless our minds be possessed with a holy reverence of God, and every thought within us be brought into obedience to him. If any man will do his will, he shall know of his doctrine (John 7:17) 3. As all our knowledge must take rise from the fear of God, so it must tend to it as its perfection and centre. THOSE KNOW ENOUGH WHO KNOW HOW TO FEAR GOD, who are careful in every thing to please him and fearful of offending him in any thing; THIS IS THE ALPHA AND OMEGA OF KNOWLEDGE.
To confirm this truth, that an eye to God must both direct and quicken all our pursuits of knowledge, he observes, Fools (atheists, who have no regard to God) despise wisdom and instruction; having no dread at all of God's wrath, nor any desire of his favor, they will not give you thanks for telling them what they may do to escape his wrath and obtain his favor. Those who say to the Almighty, Depart from us, who are so far from fearing him that they set him at defiance, can excite no surprise if they desire not the knowledge of his ways, but despise that instruction. Note, Those are fools who do not fear God and value the Scriptures; and though they may pretend to be admirers of wit they are really strangers and enemies to wisdom.
Soon.
In fact, His wrath is already upon America — and upon today’s so-called “American” people (who now sadly prefer “security” under wicked, greedy, covetous Marxist Socialist TYRANTS… MORE than LIBERTY and FREEDOM under the Lordship and righteous Rule of Jesus Christ — the Creator… the Messiah… the Judge of all mankind).
Well, seeing as the vast majority of Americans today have become blind, deluded secular humanists (often the products of Roman Catholicism combined with the Christ-the-King-hating government schools… and which might even include you)… let’s face it… we ALL need Holy Spirit-inspired WISDOM: Wisdom simply to survive… wisdom to help us thrive… and wisdom that will enable us to become pleasing to the One true living God.
So… to get back to my original point… in reading a chapter of Proverbs, for example, JUST TAP THE VERSE you have a question about… and you will then be given a choice of commentators.
For my money, when it comes to the Book of Proverbs, you probably can’t beat Matthew Henry.
(And probably his commentaries on most other of God’s 66 Holy Spirit-inspired books as well. For example, only this morning I was amazed at Matthew Henry’s insights into the book of Hosea, chapter 9 — such insights as would only make you FEAR the Lord all the more… and to STRIVE to be MORE OBEDIENT to His holy laws… while seeking to worship Him HIS way on the Lord’s Day Sunday Sabbath. And… as but one more example… I would also urge you to glean Matthew Henry’s amazing insights on Matthew chapter 5 — each one of the Beatitudes and the Sermon on the Mount — where he points out how Christ the Messiah expounded upon the original and true and spiritual meaning of God’s Moral Laws — His Ten Commandments — and how… although the they WON’T get you into Heaven… yet, they STILL apply to each one of God’s elect saints and Christ’s Church… to you, and to me… TODAY!)
Matthew Henry’s commentaries on the Holy Spirit-inspired Book of Proverbs COULD prove life-changing… for you… and for your family too. Want proof? Just take a look at his adjoining commentary on but one verse from God’s Proverbs. See if you can argue with a single propositional statement Matthew Henry makes. I’ll bet you can’t.
As an aside, if you have any doubts about the wisdom of getting down to the important business of fearing God… starting right now… in fact today… then just read about what JEHOVAH did to one of his evil apostate kings. This “leader” paid a high price for being an all-too-typical secular humanist God-hater (again, please read Psalm 2). You can read all about it in God’s Holy Spirit-inspired book of Jeremiah, chapter 52, verses 1-11 (King James Version best).
DON’T let the same thing happen to you (or the members of your family), which it absolutely will… IF you don’t get born again (see John 3: 3)… meaning… IF you die apart from FAITH (BELIEF) in the ATONING BLOOD of Israel’s Messiah… the eternal I AM… the Lord Jesus Christ.
So what else could you possibly want?
Hear the word of the Lord, ye children of Israel: for the Lord hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land. By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultry, they break out, and blood toucheth blood. Christian political philosophy is grounded squarely on divine revelation, not on natural law, nor on majority rule, nor on the exercise of mere force. Attempts to base a theory of government on secular axioms result in either anarchy or totalitarianism. Education, welfare, housing, parks, roads, retirement income, health care, or any other programs in which government is involved are illegitimate. The fact that government is involved in all these activities is a primary reason why government is not doing its own job well: The crime rate is rising, and the criminal justice system is a growing threat to a free people. The innocent are punished and the guilty remain unpunished."

I think you already know the answer. Now, please ask God to give you the grace and strength and wisdom and guidance and help to act upon it. Do it for yourself and do it for your family. Above all, do it to honor and glorify our great Triune JEHOVAH — Father, Son, Holy Spirit. The men of Israel wanted Gideon to be king and establish a dynasty because of the great victories that occurred under his judgeship. They did not focus on the fact that Jehovah, not Gideon, is the one who destroyed their enemies. They were placing their faith in state power instead of God's power. This revealed they held to a humanistic concept of politics and were turning from a biblical theocracy toward humanistic statism. Gideon had the good sense to reject their offer. This passage, by way of application, teaches us that the Biblical concept of theocracy unites Jehovah's role as Savior and as King. The Lord delivers and the Lord rules those He delivers. He expects those whom He delivers to live happily and contently under His rule. Israel was delivered from Egypt in order to receive God's law-word as the rule for personal, family and national behavior. The salvation and rule of God come together in the covenant. Salvation is for the purpose of the establishment of Godly rule on planet earth. Just as one cannot separate Christ as Savior from Christ as Lord on a personal level, one cannot separate Jesus as deliverer and as a ruler on a national level. To reject theocracy on a national level is to reject both the Lordship of Christ and His redemptive role as well. IT IS AN INVITATION TO NATIONAL CATASTROPHE AND DESTRUCTION.

The good folks at Chapel Library are dead SERIOUS about taking Christ’s Great Commission to heart, and they prove it in a number of ways. Take, for example, their Prison Ministry. Each and every month, these faithful servants of JEHOVAH mail out good Reformed literature to hundreds of men and women whose lives have been destroyed by sin, but who now have new HOPE and life in Christ because they have come to believe in God’s Gospel of Grace for fallen, sin-cursed mankind. But, aside from that, there are tons of OTHER resources that every evangelical church worth its salt should covet having.
For example, FAITHFUL (to Christ’s Great Commission) evangelical Protestant churches will want to stock their evangelical tract racks with tracts, booklets and literature from Chapel Library. And every God-fearing father and mother will want to order J.C. Ryle’s MASTERPIECE, Thoughts For Young Men, for the boys and young men in their families … and that little pink red gem of a tract, Young Women and Discretion, for their little girls and young ladies. (Heck. This little tract is GREAT for ALL women of every age, for it offers a Biblical view of how women can achieve a happy and satisfying and meaningful life… while avoiding the pitfalls of sin … in direct contradiction to America’s satanic, corrupt, Vanity Fair “culture”.) And because your soul is priceless, the EDUCATION you will get from the material this site provides will far surpass in practical value (for both you and your family) any amount of secular humanist knowledge you could ever get at Harvard … or even all the Ivy’s combined! Now, because this site is meant primarily for Jewish people in search of their Messiah, I can’t recommend too highly one tract and one booklet published by Chapel Library. The tract is called “The Blood of Jesus – Our Only Ground of Peace With God”. It was written by Puritan William Reid (1814-1896), and it thoroughly proves that the blood sprinkled upon the doorposts at the central event in Jewish history — the Passover, when the Jewish people were slaves in Egypt — typified, and was symbolic of, the blood atonement of Christ at Calvary’s cross.
My next recommendation for my beloved Jewish friends would be the booklet entitled “Charlie Coulson – The Drummer Boy”, written by Dr. Max L. Rossvally. This is the amazing, soul-stirring story and biography of how Dr. Max Rossvally — previously a Christ-despising Jewish man — came to saving faith in Jesus his Messiah through the witness of a young dying Union Army drummer boy he had operated on during America’s Civil War. Listen, my beloved Jewish friend. You can read Dr. Rossvally’s powerful testimony TODAY! Simply type the title into their search bar and click the “read” format … or simply download the PDF file to your computer. Once you’ve done that, you might want to order both the tract and the booklet, in paper format, for you and your friends and your loved ones. (Truth be told, although I am not a particularly emotional man, every time I read this story it still brings tears to my eyes. So… you don’t have to be Jewish to enjoy this fascinating true story of a patriotic Jewish American’s long journey to saving faith in the One, true, Triune God of Scripture!)
Other evangelical tracts I would highly recommend are 7 Keys For Finding God And Escaping Eternity In Hell … and… Are You Born Again? Ask the nice people at Chapel Library to mail you their extensive tract and booklet catalog. RESOURCE #9: Rushdoonyradio.org. Is it an overstatement to say that Rouhas John Rushdoony was the John Calvin of our time? Maybe. Maybe not. (Perhaps that honor and title belongs to the late great Dr. Gordon Clark.) But one thing is certain: Rushdoony was indeed a modern-day prophet. More than that, he was a practical Christian philosopher, unrivaled for applying JEHOVAH’s HOLY LAWS to every area and aspect of life. Meaning, both in the family and all civil governments. And it was DECADES ago, in the 1960s and 1970s, that R.J. Rushdoony foresaw and forewarned the American people about its ominous, inevitable downward slide into the dark night of totalitarian Marxist socialism.
Marx himself was a freeloader and a cheep skate. His anti-Christian, Satanic ideas have been responsible for the death and enslavement of tens of millions of people. Like Roman Catholicism, Islam, modern Judaism, and all other false religions, Marxism (or Socialism) is but one more form of liberalism. (Any notion, idea, practice or policy that clashes with God’s pure Word the Bible is but one more form of soul-damning Liberalism.) It therefore qualifies as but one more false and dangerous American ideology. The only people who benefit (and get rich) from America’s new religion of socialism, state worship and government dependence are the covetous politicians and armies of bureaucrats who use it to fully enslave entire populations.

God’s pure Word, the 66 Holy Spirit-inspired books of the Bible (King James Version best), teaches the economic system of Capitalism and absolute respect for all private property. God’s 8th and 10th Commandments clearly reveals this fact. Christ Himself was a capitalist. Before Christ began His Heaven-sent earthly ministry, He lived and worked as a carpenter. He used his accumulated savings to purchase hammers and saws and worktables and other tools of that trade. And He negotiated deals in the open marketplace in exchange for His wares. Capitalism, which is nothing other than the application of stored personal savings for the development and improvement of new products and services and the creation of new wealth, is the only economic system revealed in God’s Word the Bible. Societies that allow themselves to be duped by wicked politicians, and which reject God’s Commandments against stealing and coveting other people’s property, are DOOMED to dying a slow but inevitable… agonizing death. Which is exactly what is happening in towns and cities all across America today.
To gain a better understanding of the wickedness of the human heart… and to see JUST HOW LOW CHRIST-HATING LIBERAL POLITICIANS WILL GO… to hold onto money and power, just read Matthew 28: 1-15. The Calvinist doctrine of the Total Depravity of the human heart was a Biblical doctrine that America’s Protestant Christian forefathers understood very well.

The phrase "collapse of civilization" is a common figure of speech that misleads many into thinking that civilizations collapse in much the same way that buildings collapse during controlled demolitions, or like the twin towers of the World Trade Center collapsed on September 11, 2001. The whole affair, they think, is dramatic, obvious, and over in a relatively short period of time; and when it is done, nothing is left but dust and rubble. The metaphor of civizational collapse is misleading, and some people, under its influence, deny that the West is in collapse. But civilizations do not come crashing down in a matter of months or even years; and it is foolish to expect them to do so. THE WEST HAS BEEN IN A STATE OF COLLAPSE FOR MORE THAN A CENTURY. The Biblical theology that created Western Civilization five hundred years ago has all but disappeared in the West. The rejection of Christianity in North America and Europe, and the rise of several false religions -- including Arminianism, Romanism, Pentecostalism, atheism, and mysticism -- have led to the collapse of the West. That collapse is marked by, or, more accurately, is the dissolution of the Biblical family (husband, wife, and children); the economic and political regimentation of the individual and business enterprises; government ownership and control of most educational institutions; the growth of crime; the waning of civility; the acceptance of public profanity, obscenity, and homosexuality; and the resurgence of brutality. To oppose some of this civizational collapse, the Religious Right in America has embraced both Romanism and Judaism as saviors of the West, foolishly ignorant of the fact that they, as forms of unbelief, are destroyers of the West and causes of the collapse. What we call Western Civilization arose because of the widespread preaching of the Gospel of Justification by Faith Alone. THEOLOGIES THAT DENY THIS DOCTRINE ARE FATAL TO BOTH SOULS AND SOCIETIES.
RESOURCE #10: Here is a basic lesson on “home economics” that ought to be taught to every member of the U.S. Congress. And maybe it needs to be taught to you too. My recommendation is simple: read this for yourself… and then… print out a copy of Not Yours To Give and mail it to your U.S. Congressman, along with a note urging him to read it. (It would also be a good thing if the JEHOVAH-hating, socialist members of America’s so-called U.S. “Supreme” Court read this too.) One of the underlying themes of this site (fully warranted from God’s pure and perfect Word, the 66 books of the King James Bible) is that liberalism… basically… is mind-blighting, soul-damning insanity. (A plain and simple, self-evident fact but one all liberals are too blind to see.) One diabolical form of liberalism is socialism, which is a sinful form of government and totally contrary to God’s Word and the U.S. Constitution. (Socialism is Satan’s instituted system and form of government because it fashions governments into totalitarian, Christ-hating gods; all of its advocates and adherents, unless they repent, will follow Satan down into Hell.) As of the time of this writing (January, 2020), America is now over $23 TRILLION in debt and counting. (Actually, when you add in all the unfunded liabilities, it’s much, MUCH higher.) But, if every U.S. congressman, in years gone by, had the integrity and wisdom of Davy Crockett (which, of course, few, if any today, do), America wouldn’t be the rotting, debt-laden sinking ship it has now become. Yes, had America not departed from its Protestant roots… had Christ the Son of God and Israel’s Messiah been rightly recognized as our nation’s Ruler and King… had JEHOVAH’s Ten Commandments remained prominently displayed in every city and country classroom (and courtroom) in the country, America would have remained the manufacturing capital of the world, and it wouldn’t cost a young couple an arm and a leg to buy a house. We’d still be on the gold standard, young people wouldn’t be committing suicide in such high numbers, and murderers and rapists (if found guilty) would all be quickly executed. America’s prison population would likely only be 1/50th the size it now is, if that. (The horrific, life-destroying crimes they did would never have been committed. And think of all the children and wives who’d have had hard-working fathers and husbands at home, instead of being away doing hard time.) And… with the full realization that the Tree of Liberty only takes root and grows in PROTESTANT SOIL, the American people could have avoided sacrificing its sons, in combat, on the alter of the false god of “Democracy”. But liberals, infected as they are with the soul-damning insanity of liberalism (in varying depths and degrees), all mistakenly (and foolishly) think they’re smarter and wiser than our great Lord JEHOVAH — the Creator of the universe — Father, Son, Holy Spirit. Simplistic, you say? True; these are simple truths. Truths, in fact, no more complex than JEHOVAH’s Ten Commandments — the holy, inflexible standard by which you will be judged on Judgment Day. (Better make sure your sins have been covered by the blood of Jesus, your ONLY ground and hope of having peace with God (including peace of mind).
